Heroes Wear Helmets: Making Safety Cool for the Next Generation of Riders

For more than 10 years, we have talked about how incredible it would be to give brand-new helmets to kids at ATV Big Air Tour shows. Helmets are not cheap, but they are one of the most important pieces of safety equipment a young rider can own.
In 2026, that idea finally became a reality with the launch of our Heroes Wear Helmets campaign.
Our goal is simple: make wearing a helmet something kids feel proud of.
Children are constantly reminded by parents to wear their helmets, but sometimes that message means more when it comes from the professional riders they have just watched launch ATVs and dirt bikes through the air. Our athletes may perform incredible stunts, but they also understand that smart decisions and the right safety equipment are what allow them to keep doing what they love.
As we like to say:
“Superheroes wear capes, but real heroes wear helmets.”
At the beginning of the 2026 season, we purchased 40 brand-new helmets to give away during ATV Big Air Tour performances across the country. We were grateful to purchase them through the annual Lids 4 Kids event at Hilmerson Sports Center in Little Falls, Minnesota, an incredible program that helps hundreds of children get properly fitted for helmets.
Since then, some of our favorite moments of the season have been watching young fans hear their names called and realize they have won a helmet at one of our shows.
The messages we receive from parents afterward mean even more. They tell us their children are excited to wear their new helmets, proud to show them off and suddenly looking at safety in a completely different way. To a child, winning a helmet in front of a grandstand full of people can feel life-changing. To us, it is a chance to help protect the next generation of riders.
This campaign is about more than giving away prizes. It is about encouraging kids to ride responsibly, protect their brains and understand that wearing safety gear does not make them less fearless.
It helps them keep riding, learning and chasing the things they love.
We are on a mission to give away as many helmets as possible to young riders across the country. We would also love to expand the campaign to include more safety equipment, including goggles, gloves, jerseys and other protective riding gear.
If your business, organization or brand would like to partner with the ATV Big Air Tour and help us place more safety equipment into the hands of young riders, we would love to hear from you! Contact Derek@ATVBigAirTour.com
Together, we can make safety cool and help more kids become real-life heroes.
